A Mechanical Screen is a core solid-liquid separation device at the front end of water treatment. It automatically intercepts and removes floating objects, suspended solids and large impurities in wastewater through mechanical transmission. It protects water pumps, pipelines and subsequent biochemical/membrane systems. It is the "first line of defense" for physical pretreatment.

1. Working Principle

When wastewater flows through the grid bars or drum, solids get intercepted. Mechanisms like rake teeth, chains or drums lift the contaminants to the slag discharge port. It can be equipped with spiral press dewatering. You can control its operation by level difference, time or manual mode.

2. Grid Gap Classification (Core Selection Parameter)

• Crushing Type: It cuts contaminants into 6–10 mm particles. You don't need to transport the debris out. It is suitable for buried pump stations.
• Wire Rope Traction/Grab Type: It is suitable for large channels, high water level difference and coarse screen scenarios.

The operation channel depth ranges from 0.5 to 8 m. The processing capacity can reach thousands of m³/h. Common materials include carbon steel with anti-corrosion treatment, 304/316L stainless steel. It is equipped with overload protection, automatic backwashing/cleaning.
